Inaugural Local Legislative Drafting Summit: The Art of Lawmaking in Cities Nationwide

The New York City Council’s Legislative Division is excited to announce the inaugural "Local Legislative Drafting Summit: The Art of Lawmaking in Cities Nationwide." The conference will be held on July 15 & 16, 2016 and will be one of the first to focus solely on legislative drafting by cities, counties, towns, and other local governments.

The summit will include bill drafting staff, local legislators, judges, advocacy groups, and others from big cities and small towns around the country. Attendees will have a unique opportunity to share local bill-drafting best practices, to collaborate in addressing challenges faced by local government drafters, and to develop relationships with other participating local governments.
